The GWR is going to be renationalised on the 13th December 2026.

This is probably a good thing for the public but if you like the calm dark green livery of the current GWR trains passing through Stroud you might be in for a shock.

The new proposed colors of the Great British Railways trains are a bit bright and shouty!

The above photo is all over the Internet so I can’t credit who it belongs to.

If you’re into railways you better get your cameras out and start taking some photos and video as potentially the current dark green livery won’t be seen in these parts after the end of this year, possibly sooner depending on the rebranding schedule.

As soon as I see a rebranded train in these parts I will post an article on Stroudie Central. I presume they won’t be repainting the station and footbridge that recently had a repaint in the old GWR colours!

The above photos of the green trains were taken at Stroud railway station.
